Your YA 2026 Earned Income Relief by age: S$1,000, S$6,000 or S$8,000 (S$4,000 to S$12,000 with a disability), capped at earned income, and the tax it saves.
A tax relief for people who earn income from work, a pension or a business. IRAS takes it off your assessable income before working out your tax.
S$1,000 if you are below 55, S$6,000 from 55 to 59 and S$8,000 from 60. It is capped at your taxable earned income, so S$5,000 of earned income gets at most S$5,000.
S$4,000 below 55, S$10,000 from 55 to 59 and S$12,000 from 60. It replaces the normal relief. You cannot have both.
Your age on 31 Dec of the year you earned the income. For YA 2026, that is your age on 31 Dec 2025.
No. IRAS grants it automatically. For the disability version, claim it in your tax return the first time and IRAS grants it each year after that.
Employment income, pensions, and income from a trade, business, profession or vocation after allowable expenses. Rent, interest and dividends do not count.
Yes. Your trade or business income after allowable expenses counts as earned income, so you get the same amount for your age.
