Who qualifies for Workfare in 2026?

Singapore citizens aged 30 and above by 31 December 2026, or persons with disabilities of any age, who earn S$500 to S$3,000 a month. Your home's annual value must be S$21,000 or less and you must own at most one property. If you are married, your spouse's assessable income must be S$70,000 or less, and the two of you must own at most one property.

How much Workfare will I get?

It depends on your age and income. Employees get up to S$2,450 a year at 30 to 34, S$3,500 at 35 to 44, S$4,200 at 45 to 59 and S$4,900 at 60 and above. The full amount goes to those earning S$1,700 to S$2,300 a month; it is lower at the ends of the S$500 to S$3,000 range.

How is Workfare split between cash and CPF?

Employees get 40% in cash and 60% in CPF. Self-employed workers get 10% in cash and 90% in MediSave.

When is Workfare paid?

For employees, WIS for a month's work is paid by the end of the second month after it to a PayNow-NRIC or bank account, or in the first week of the third month through GovCash. Self-employed workers are paid once a year, from the end of April after the work year if they declare their income and pay MediSave by 31 March.

Do I need to apply for Workfare?

Employees are assessed automatically from their employer's CPF contributions. Self-employed workers qualify after declaring net trade income to IRAS and paying their MediSave contributions in full.

Does my bonus count as income for Workfare?

Yes. Gross monthly income includes basic pay and extra wages such as overtime, commissions and bonuses. Your average over the past 12 months must also be S$3,000 or less.

Can I get Workfare if I earn less than S$500?

Usually not. Persons with disabilities, ComCare Short-to-Medium-Term Assistance recipients and caregivers can get concessionary WIS on income under S$500.

Where do the self-employed figures come from?
